About Us

My Story:
Long before Carolina Bath & Body Co. became a beloved staple in the High Country, the foundation of my business was being laid right here in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
As someone raised from a small child right here in Boone, North Carolina, my connection to these mountains runs deep. Growing up surrounded by the crisp mountain air, pristine waters, and wild beauty of the High Country shapes how you view the world. It teaches you to appreciate things that are grounded, authentic, and close to nature.
It was that exact mountain spirit that inspired me to start making soap over 20 years ago.
Two Decades of Purposeful, Problem-Solving Formulation
Skincare trends come and go, but true craftsmanship stands the test of time. For more than two decades, I have dedicated myself to the traditional art of small-batch soapmaking. Alongside those 20 years of hands-on soap craft, I spent 10 years working directly in the medicinal plant and herbal industry.
That decade spent studying the properties of herbs completely transformed how I view skincare. It taught me that products shouldn't just smell good—they should solve real, frustrating issues. I realized that my customers were searching for honest alternatives to chemical-laden products that left their hair stripped, their skin dry, or their feet cracked.
Purpose-Driven, Head-to-Toe Solutions
Because I formulate with an herbalist's mindset, nearly every product in my collection was intentionally developed to help someone overcome a specific skin or hair struggle. I expanded my workshop to offer targeted, natural relief for your entire body:
- Hair Care: My specialized, concentrated shampoo and conditioner bars are crafted to deeply cleanse and deeply condition without the plastic bottles, synthetic build-up, or stripping detergents.
- Face, Skin, & Feet: Intentionally balanced formulas developed to soothe irritation, protect the skin's natural barrier, and revive dry, hardworking hands and feet.
- Bath & Beyond: Clean essentials designed to turn your daily routine into a therapeutic, mountain-spa experience that respects your body.
What started as a passionate local endeavor has grown into a lifelong mission: to offer my community honest, problem-solving products at an affordable price, without ever compromising on quality.
The Blue Ridge Standard of Purity
My signature liquid Castile soap is the ultimate culmination of those 20 years of soapmaking and my decade of herbal knowledge. When I looked at mass-market Castile soaps, I saw products that were thin, watery, and artificially thickened with cheap synthetic gums.
I knew my customers deserved better. I set a higher standard.
Instead of diluting my soap with plain water, I build my formula on a base of deeply hydrating, soothing organic aloe vera. I slow-pour 100% organic base oils in a meticulous process that preserves a true, authentic soap pH of 9–10:
- Organic Coconut Oil for a powerful, grease-cutting clean.
- Sunflower & Olive Oils to leave a gentle, conditioning feel on the skin.
- Castor Oil to create those dense, extra-fluffy bubbles my customers love.
Still Handcrafted, Still Local
Twenty years later, my business has grown, but my heart remains exactly the same. There are no corporate boardrooms or automated factories here—I still personally handcraft every single product with love, care, and your unique needs completely in mind. Today, you can find my collection online, locally in West Jefferson at the Market Place at Curiosity, or right back where it all started at the High Country Food Hub in Boone.
When you purchase from me, you aren't just buying a bottle of soap or a shampoo bar. You are supporting a local business, a lifelong High Country neighbor, and over two decades of purposeful mountain tradition.
Thank y'all so much for your support.
